“A book to be read slowly. Savored. Admired for it’s precision of language and emotion.” – Alice Walker
The Poetry Shop, Fiji and the Oceania Centre for Arts, Culture and Pacific Studies, has organized a panel discussion with three generations of Pacific women poets Konai Thaman, Cresantia Koya Vaka’uta and Kathy Jetn̄il-Kijiner, who all came to poetry as a form of protest.
Following the panel discussion, there will a short reading to share work by incredible local poets and writers, and an opportunity for us to hear about Kathy’s new book that she launched earlier this week in Hawaii.
